Pika Amidst Alpine Flowers in Rocky Mountain National Park
This pika was photographed in the alpine environment of Rocky Mountain National Park, high along Trail Ridge Road at nearly 11,000 feet. Surrounded by vibrant purple alpine flowers, the pika is seen foraging on the lush vegetation, typical behavior for this small, herbivorous mammal. The afternoon light softly illuminated the scene, enhancing the textures of the pika’s fur and the delicate flowers that dot the landscape. Pikas are often found in these rocky, high-altitude regions where they thrive in the cooler temperatures. The combination of the rugged mountain terrain and colorful wildflowers creates a beautiful contrast, showcasing the resilience and charm of life in such a harsh environment.
