American White Ibis Foraging in Everglades National Park
An American white ibis is photographed foraging along the Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park, one of the most iconic wildlife-viewing areas in South Florida. Its bright white plumage contrasts with the earthy tones of the wetland grasses, while the long, downward-curved red bill and pink legs clearly define the species. The Anhinga Trail is well known for allowing close, eye-level encounters with wading birds, making it an excellent location for behavioral and portrait-style photography. Capturing the ibis as it probes the shallow marsh adds a sense of motion and natural behavior. Shooting from a low angle with a wide aperture helps isolate the subject against a softly blurred background, while early morning or late afternoon light preserves feather detail and avoids overexposing the white plumage.
