Sierra Nevada peaks framed by the Mobius Arch
The Alabama Hills is known for its interesting natural arches worth spending every minute exploring and photographing. However, in our opinion, The Mobius Arch is the most picturesque of all. Besides its shape, texture, and color, the Mobius Arch provides a fantastic way to frame the distant Sierra Nevada peaks, including Lone Pine and Mount Whitney. Mount Whitney is the tallest mountain in the region and the contiguous USA, reaching 14,495 feet. It is easy to access the arch taking popular Movie Flat Road and hiking short about .6-mile-long Mobius Arch Loop Trail. Sunrise works best if your goal is to capture peaks filled with warm morning light.
