Reflection of Maroon Bells – Colorado
The Maroon Bells are among the most breathtaking natural landmarks in the Rocky Mountains, located in the Maroon-Bells Wilderness Area within the Elk Mountains. These iconic peaks, Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, rise to elevations of 14,156 and 14,014 feet, respectively, and are part of the six famous fourteeners in the range. The Maroon Bells are renowned for their stunning beauty and striking reflections. We captured this photo from the beginning of the Maroon-Snowmass Trail, taking advantage of the early morning light to photograph their reflection in Maroon Lake. We were fortunate to witness a rare August snowfall that added a fresh layer of snow to the peaks, enhancing the scene with a touch of winter's beauty.
