Mesquite Sand Dunes at sunset
The Mesquite Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park offer some of the most breathtaking photography opportunities, especially at sunrise or sunset. During these times, the low angle of the sun creates a striking contrast between the sunlit and shadowed sides of the dunes, highlighting the intricate patterns and textures on their surface. The dunes are easily accessible from the parking lot, and since there are no marked trails, you’re free to explore and walk up and down the dunes to discover the perfect vantage point. While any lens can be used for capturing the dunes, a long lens is particularly beneficial for isolating specific features and creating detailed compositions.
