Sunset Over Moraine Valley, Rocky Mountain National Park

This photo looks west over Moraine Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park at sunset. In the foreground, rocky ground and scattered shrubs mix with a group of wind-shaped conifers, giving the scene depth right away. Past this, the land drops into a wide, forested valley where thick evergreens open up into meadows. Mountain ridges stretch into the distance, each one looking softer as haze fills the air. These layers make the landscape feel vast and separated, which is typical for this part of the central Rockies. The sky stands out, with clouds catching warm sunset colors while cooler blues stay above. From this spot, you can see a clear foreground, a structured midground, and distant peaks. Using a wide-angle view helps show the space, and placing the trees on the left draws your eye into the valley. The evening light brings out the rocks' texture and gently shapes the land’s features.
